Rooted in faith. Bound by heritage. Called to serve.
The Father Mychal Judge Division 1 of Hudson County is a proud division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), America’s oldest Irish Catholic fraternal organization. Rooted in Irish heritage, Catholic faith, and community service, our division brings together Irish-American men across Hudson County, New Jersey in friendship, unity, and Christian charity.
Our division carries the name and spirit of Father Mychal Judge, OFM — Franciscan friar, FDNY chaplain, and tireless servant of those in need. Inspired by his compassion, humility, and courage, we gather as brothers to celebrate Irish culture, strengthen our local community, support charitable causes, and preserve the traditions of Irish Americans throughout Hudson County.
Friendship
Brotherhood forged through shared values, Irish pride, faith, and genuine care for one another. The bonds formed here last a lifetime.
Unity
From Irish cultural celebrations and civic advocacy to community events and charitable outreach, we stand together as one voice for the Irish-American community across Hudson County.
Christian Charity
Following Father Judge’s example, we serve those in need through charitable giving, volunteer work, faith-based service, and compassionate action throughout our local communities.
Father Mychal Judge served as chaplain to the New York City Fire Department for more than a decade, ministering to firefighters, the homeless, people living with AIDS, and anyone in need of comfort and compassion. On September 11, 2001, he became recognized as the first certified victim of the attacks — a final act of presence, courage, and selfless love that embodied everything he stood for.
We are honored to carry his name and continue his legacy of faith, service, and brotherhood.
We welcome men of Irish birth or descent who are interested in Irish heritage, Catholic values, community service, and fraternity to learn more about our mission and consider membership in the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hudson County Division 1.
